IN NEGROS. In the heart of the Philippine Archipelago
is the Negros Island, the fourth largest island in the Philippines.
It was once called "Buglas" before the Spaniards came
in 1565. The boot-shaped island is divided into provinces -
Negros Oriental in the east (occupies the area towards the toe
of the boot) and Negros Occidental in the west. Negros Oriental
is located along latitudes 9 degrees 1’ to 11 north and
longitude 122 degrees to a23 degrees 34’ east. It is blessed
